Generic driver better than ASUS. Just in case this gets indexed and it helps others - here's a quick description of the issue I had.

ASUS ROG Strix laptop, intermittent sluggish and laggy trackpad performance.

Trackpad was never quite precise with small movements, and lagged on input. Sometimes it would be realtime, other times it would add a fraction of a second delay, so I have to slow down otherwise I'm clicking all the wrong things. It felt like there was some processing happening based on my input... like the trackpad was trying to predict my movement. Dunno.

Installing the generic HID compliant driver you suggest here turned this piece of crap into a trackpad that's as precise and good to use as my macbook pro. Very happy, thank you!
