Turkey says it sent 500,000 coronavirus test kits to United States

I feel like Turkey is heavily underestimating their numbers.

They are reporting 359 cases (4 cases per 1 million people). Compare that to neighbouring Greece which is at 45 cases per 1 million people on one side and neighbouring Iran on the other side with 219 cases per 1 million people.

Turkey is very exposed:

  • 2 of their cities are among the 10 most visited cities in the world; Istanbul (13.4 million visitors) and Antalya (12.41 visitors). source
  • Istanbul airport is one of the busiest in the world with almost 70 million passengers going through particularly as it connects the East (from Iran to China) with the West (Europe and North America)... literally right between the major outbreaks.

So either they are somehow very lucky/prepared or we're about to see a major explosion in cases over there.
