Turki AlFaisal’s speech at the 2020 Manama Dialogues under the International Institute for Strategic Studies. “All Israeli governments are the last of the Western colonizing powers of the Middle East.”

Not really. I say that because I’m truly thankful and grateful for all things this land provided me with. I’m not Najdi, nor from a tribe. I’m not connected at all. Just another Saudi.

I was given a free international scholarship to pursue my studies even beyond my Master’s. My mom got ill a few years ago and had her expenses covered by the gov fully, although it was a private hospital.

Not to mention that I currently work in a Gov service, where we literally visit small villages & “هجر” across Saudi to find people who lack access to health care & education and push for funding for their services. The government is sending us to find people between mountains and give them access to all things they need to improve their life standards.

There are government shortcomings for sure, but from what I’ve seen in my work in gov, there is a real, deep desire to improve living standards for citizens. Billions are being invested in infrastructure & services every year. I see it in front of me. How can I be critical about all things Saudi? Gov has the right intentions, and backed it up with real good work, with some short comings. I’ll criticize those short comings but fairly. What you’re doing is just shitting randomly, you’re full of hate & anger, and I really hope that you find happiness my friend.

Good luck. You remind me of my high school self.
