Turn your Thinking Around on a Case!

The First Turnabout: Larry Butz is the one responsible for Cindy Stone's death.

Don't misunderstand me, Sawhit was the one who committed the deed, but Larry planned it.

Larry found out pretty quickly while Cindy was overseas that she was basically cheating on him. He didn't take that too kindly, so he got to work.

He knew Frank Sawhit from around the time Nick was in college. He knew the kind of things Sawhit did, and he turned a blind eye to it because they got along so well.

But Larry also knew how Sawhit was a paranoid guy, especially when he was robbing people. He'd do anything to not get caught, including murder. Larry used this to his advantage.

Larry knew that Cindy was already back from her trip, and had known that she had left her apartment and planned to be back soon. So Larry and Frank quickly devised a plan: Larry would check to see if she was home, they would pass by each other, and Larry would tell Frank it was clear.

Larry watched the whole thing from a hidden distance, and his information had been correct: Cindy arrived right on schedule, shocking Sawhit, who delivered the dirty deed.

"But Larry's an idiot!" I hear you shouting, but it's all a facade. He's a brilliant artist, after all, and he's had his moments of brilliance. He knew Nick, a rookie lawyer who had all the faith in the world in him, would never suspect his best friend since childhood.

And that's how that manipulative madman Larry Butz got off scot free.
