Tweet by dmg confirms that worldline skating, and possibly skating in general is getting nerfed along with the new sword changes.

It's not really a bug, it just wasn't really intended to be used the way it is used right now. You can actually skate with any class with super activations so it isn't just warlocks.

What makes people really mad is why they are nerfing it now, after 2 YEARS, instead of some more concerning topics, for example crucible changes. "But hey, let's go and change how swords work for pretty much no reason!" - some Bungie employee probably.

I'm one of those people who enjoys sword skating, and especially worldline skating in speedruns, and can quite confidently say that most likely the speedrun community will vanish if not die completely from this change.
