Twenty nine years ago today an armed gunman shot and killed 14 women at Montreal's Ecole Polytechnique.

Now you change the goalposts to ‘operating reliably’, perfect. There is no way you can be trained in 15 minutes to operate a firearm reliably and accurately enough to hit moving targets. Especially a handgun. If that were the case then basic training for the army would be over in less than a day.

There are politicians that used to be like you - believing things they saw in an action movie, but changed their tune once they went out did the firearms safety course, applied for and got an RPAL, bought a firearm, and tried it out at the range. Maybe you should do the same to better educate yourself on the existing laws and get first hand experience in the things you are so sure to be true but are not.
