I do believe it's the fact that they're finding comfort in the GOP because of Trump's inability to denounce them. I don't believe Trump is a nazi, but it's literally the easiest thing to do to come out and denounce white supremacists yet he wasn't able to do that. Yes, he did do it eventually, but he took it back to blame both sides. And I get the point that there are extremist groups on the left, but that's not the point. The point is that Trump took the scenario very lightly, and the white supremacists saw it as him siding with their side. Rational people might not see Trump saying both sides are bad as a victory to the supremacist side, but they sure do. Now, to say democrats don't want to hear anything about their racist past is completely ludicrous and completely denounces the change that both political parties went through around the 1960's. So no, democrats, aside from the ones on reddit, don't believe republicans are racist nazis, but for the time being, racist neo nazis are supporting the president and he seems alright with that. That's our problem.
