A Twitter Bot Tracking How many Deaths Private Jet Flights will cause

There are about 7.5 million millionaires in the US so we'll call them the 1% since that is close enough for arguments sake (the "poorest" of them is about $11 million net worth). The average carbon emissions for the top 1% are 110 tons a year so let's multiply that over a 40 year period then take that 4,400 tons a year and multiply it by the 1% population for a total of 3.63 Trillion tons over 40 years. If we assume that 1034 tons of carbon = ~.23 deaths and divide the 3.63 Trillion by 2034 you get a staggering 3,510,638,297 deaths by 2100.

Their math seems a bit off unless you actually believe 3.5 billion people will be dead in 78 years due strictly to carbon emissions lol. I originally came here to disagree with you but the math changed my mind. I'm sure the fine print says 0.23 deaths (+/- 0.22 deaths for margin of error).
