Two junkies passed out at the wheel in Detroit. Bystanders try to help with milk.

I've personally gotten clean that's why I understand their mindset. The guy said he couldn't fathom the allure of doing it in a parking lot. The only allure of doing that instead of going somewhere comfortable to get high is because you're sick.

That's a different comment strand. I'm responding to your response to this comment;

I get what you're saying, but there really is a way to not get dope sick. And it starts with not doing dope.

Which you responding by saying it's "too late" in the game for them. The "allure" aspect of it has nothing to do with my comment or the comment I was responding to.

Not everyone can just white knuckle it and go cold turkey.

When did I suggest that? There are numerous paths to stopping dope sickness as a symptom of withdraw; from quitting cold turkey without medical attention all the way up to staying at a plush recovery center. What's the common thread? You stop using dope. That's how you stop getting dope sick. Regardless of how you stop using dope. I understand that not all addicts have the same options for recovery, but that's kind of a different discussion in itself.

"A shitty couple weeks" is an understatement when you've been awake for more than 3 days straight through agonizing pain knowing there's something that can cure you instantly.

And in hindsight were those "3 days straight of agonizing pain" worth it? I think we both know the answer to that.

Some people wash out of special forces training even though they really want it. I mean it's only a couple of weeks, just don't quit. Just like that some people find they aren't strong enough when given the option to not have to go through it anymore.

It changes what your body tells you is essential. When you're not in dope it goes

Air>water>food>shelter

When you're on dope it's

Air>dope

I already understand all of that. Bit of a strawman.
