TX- What does "Out the Door" cost really mean?

The entire time they were doing this, they made me feel like I was taking advantage of them

You kind of were. You agreed to an OTD price, which I assume was already good, and you reneged.

I’m one of those dreaded “email 20 dealerships for their lowest bid” type of buyer, but when a deal is done, it’s done. I’d be livid if the dealership increased the price afterwards. Likewise, it’s be unacceptable if I did it in reverse to the dealership. In the end, if you agreed to $30k OTD, it doesn’t matter if it’s $29900 + $100 doc fees or $1 + $1 doc fee + $28,998 donation to the dealership’s cocaine habit, you pay $30k and get a car.
