Tyler, The Creator - Cherry Bomb: First Impressions

Got bored haha

Tyler, The Creaters album Cherry Bomb is a experiremental album trying to find what he likes. After Wolf i had lost the hype i once had for him. Wolf was a solid 4/10 maybe a 5. However, Cherry Bomb randomly announces a album on twitter and drops a video to go with it. Instead of building hype he just drops it without the month or two wait.

Smuckers will definability be the hit of this album. It features a appearance by Kayne West and Lil Wayne. West verse is very in tone with the beat he speaks on black people and what people think of him and the comparison of black and whites, somewhat like To Pimp A Butterfly except he refers to gangs like Crips and Bloods which is shown in the music video ‘i’. I’m not a fan of Lil Wayne but he makes a appearance which i was not expecting but he somehow makes the whole song come together.

Deathcamp has a N.E.R.D type feel to it which is one of tyler favourite bands. As i stated earlier Tyler wanted to create music he likes and has clearly shown this with Deathcamp. We got a sneak peek of this song in the music video he has realesed for Fucking Young. This song is Tyler clearly being experimental and it has payed of and has shown maturity in this song quite a bit.

Buffalo sounds like a old OF song or from his album Barsted. The heavy bass shows this and the type of flow to the song. As well as how hard he goes. You can hear a voice at one stage mention how if he fucks this up he is gone. It could represent his conservative fancies who want old OF shit and don’t care about him experimenting. At the end he says “why has no got there hands up thats the issue” this could show the fanbase once again. The song basically is about the pressure put on him by the fans and possibly his record label though he owns it.

The Brownstains is defiantly a hype which i haven’t heard for quite some time from tyler, Bass goes hard. Speaks about drugs and how he doesn’t take them.

fucking young, another love song by tyler. Very melodyish. But for some reason i like this. Reminds me for she for some weird reason. Music video is funny
