I've been there myself. Everyone on reddit acts like robbers have your best intentions in mind, I remember what it was like to have a gun pointed at me as a kid while my mom begged and I remember the terror of seeing that invader shoot the unarmed man who came to help. Fuck the idea of chancing everything you've ever loved on the off chance they're going to go soft on you, I'd rather be judged by 12 than be carried by 6 any day of the week.

These people saying you dont need a weapon have likely never been in a situation where they wished they had one, not all of us can live in the white suburbs with the privileged gates and police response times so long that they'd might as well not even show up at all.

I wish I had a gun the night I'd referenced above, maybe I wouldnt be so fucked up and have so many nightmares about having to stomp a guy's fucking head in when I was 11 years old after the invader had already shot someone.
