I think this was an example given for the My Little Pony + Furry Fandoms.

Lets pretend you love pie. You enjoy making pies, and you love sharing them with your friends and family, so you sign up for pie magazines. Pretty soon you realize your community has a pretty strong 'pie making' get together, and you all join up to swap recopies, talk about the pies that got away, and argue over using fresh fruit vs nearly brown fruit.

Your group is inclusive, and you've never turned anyone away. Your group has the entire spectrum of LGBTQ members, and you pride yourselves on how you include people.

And then one day the weird people start showing up. People that like to wear diapers filled with pie. People that enjoy rubbing pie on their nipples, and people that like to fuck freshly backed pies. Your community is all inclusive, and you've never turned anyone away before, and nobody is really in a position to start turning away people now.

But they keep coming. And all of a sudden someone makes a CSI episode with a piefucker, and all of a sudden everyone assumes that everyone in your group fucks pies. That you can't invest this much time, effort, and money into your hobby unless there's something sexual at the end of it. And so the overwhelming majority of you just want to hang out and talk about crust, but you'll forever be known for that one episode of CSI where the guy fucked a pie.
