Sorry.....I meant to add (my wife works for the CDC.....so if I never hear about AB resistance, again.....I'll be just fine!).....the antibiotic misuse with tetracycline (in the US) is a result of all these folks preparing for a zombie apocalypse--they have websites and magazines that recommend ordering tetracycline from pet store/product sites. Tetracycline 250mg is available (without a prescription) on these sites. I believe it's used in treating ICH (think fish in an aquarium). These 'end-of-the-world' hopefuls are unyielding in their unfounded beliefs.......there are multiple situations where the "stock" on hand (for the ZA!).....was expired or near expiration. People would take the medicine, believing.....you're sick....you need an antibiotic. This is an antibiotic!

I believe the subject had to do with "CDC warning" of overuse of antibiotics. My wife was on the team (Tweens you and me, she picked up the coffee for everyone else!!! She's a PharmD pharmacist, like me, with a PhD in epidemiology. Even chiropractors and optometrists.......they look down on pharmacists!

Truvada is a drug developed in hopes of managing the HIV virus. What was serendepitously discovered (forgive my spelling......in that arena I not only a Neanderthal.....I'm an autistic Neanderthal with ADHD)......if a man took a daily dose of this drug........he did not become infected after unprotected sex with a partner that was HIV positive.

The truvada situation was complicated from the get-go. #1---most of the world HATES homosexuals. (I'll add......Most of the US declares itself "Christian", yet would not be able to tell you the Bible has an 'old test.' and 'new test.'; Forget about asking them to name the books of the Bible or explaining how they were canonized! What happened, after an article was released that "taking truvada" has proven effective at prevent HIV transmission!!
Many of us saw the 'writing on the wall' (that's from the Bible!)....... What happened? Gay men take one truvada dose.....then go frolic.
Not only do the become HIV positive........this infinitesimal exposure is the first step in helping the HIV virus evolve even further.
