USA has not fought a war against a real enemys for decades. USA has a horrible geopolitical position for any offensive ... everything is far more expensive than for the enemy. USA has to cross oceans.

Besides this has china caught up and has enough naval power for a war.

And on borders with a real enemy that can fight back are "carrier Groups" just slow targets for rockets.

Besides this ... how many soldiers you think USA could send against china (russia would join than too)? Soldiers that need to be removed from other bases all around the planet. what you think will happen than with this bases in syria afghanistan & co?

What do you think can 100.000 or 200.000 soldiers do agains a country with bn 1,4 people?
