If Omicron wins, the pandemic is over - look at South Africa.

see, the peak in 12 dec. So about two weeks later there should be a peak in the mortality. And there is, kind of. So the mutations of Omicron obviously made it much more contagious, but far less lethal. And as the rate of vaccination in South Africa is very low, it seems this is not related to the vaccines. Anyway the world needs higher vaccination rates to avoid new mutations. As the next one could be deadly. Nobody can predict, as the mutations happens completely random, and these with some competitive advantage persist. But it seems the Omicron could end the pandemic as social disaster.
