Here's a link from politifact that, if you read it, shows what I'm saying. The first four years had 10% of revenues but only 1% of expenses. When passed, PPACA was supposed to save $200 billion and put $2500 in the pocket of most families. A few years later, it "slowed the rise of health care costs."

The reason it was a neat exercise is that this was in the news all the goddamn time and front page of reddit weekly 2011-2013. But it was actually pretty hard for me to find any source. I had to do a bunch of searches (PPACA brought it up but ACA and Obamacare did not) and filter news results pre-2013.

I think this is going to be an increasingly common occurrence where things that seriously did happen become harder and harder to prove because the exponential rate of news is burying things faster and faster.
