U.S. intel helped Ukraine protect air defenses, shoot down Russian plane carrying hundreds of troops

If it's on Russian land, the entire US armed forces couldn't destroy the Russian armed forces. Russia covers ⅛ of the world's land surface. The Russians would do defense in depth, and the Americans just wouldn't have enough men.

If it was in Ukraine and it was just USMC vs Russia's current Ukraine task force, it would still not be enough, because the USMC only has 180k men, and they gave up their tanks and artillery to pivot toward an over-the-horizon Pacific campaign against China. I think the size of Ukraine would spread them to thin, and it would be hard to do breakouts without artillery or armor.

If we dumped the Marines into Ukraine with all of their air assets and set them up to do combined arms with Ukrainian armor and infantry, together, they'd send the Russians running. Heck, if the US just gave the Ukrainians loan of as many naval air assets as they want, I think the Ukrainians would have the Russians running for the border.
