U.S Reddit users. What would happen to your country if guns were banned?

I'm not entirely sure you understand the plot-line, you go ahead and think whatever you want. Doesn't mean you are completely correct. I disagree with you, and don't want to argue with someone I presume to be a "hoo-raah meathead."

Police rarely are chosen to police their own neighborhoods.

If an armed insurrection mobilized, the military most certainly would be counter-mobilized. Vets are already assumed to be threats in this day and age of hyper-paranoia and hyper-vigilance. You have no imagination and that's why you haven't read the rand corporation's documents outlining this very thing. There are think-tanks that have thought about this and spent money on making sure that tactical organizations are available with premobilized fusion centers and pre-fab prisons. You have no clue what you are talking about other than your police level intelligence. CCWs. Old people packing colts. Please. Someone gives the orders and most likely they will shoot as the rules of engagement will have already been broken by one side or the other, a la BLM stand-offs. Any armed insurrection will be treated like terrorism, because that's the world we live in now, with NDAA, and the Patriot acts. You think Kent State was a fluke? People aren't treated like human beings by this government or the police forces that are acting as guard cells for the public order and status quo. Your victory is hollow unless you evolve to another level of thinking, sure you may have won the argument, but when they polarize this goddamn country and implode the economy, who's going to do what with your pension, sir? That's laughable. You think you are going to be paid? You are going to be in the same boat with everyone else: Our butts cashing the check that the IMF wrote. Good talk.
