U.S. slammed by U.N. as only country in the world that still sentences children to prison for life without parole.

I recognize that you're likely a troll and I'm wasting my time. But it is 5AM, and I can't sleep, so fuck it. Are you fucking joking right now? Have you ever worked closely with the inner city families? Let me provide you some background. For 7 years I worked with an educational SES provider (For those that aren't familiar, SES is a program that provided funding for tutoring for those 'in need', failing schools and the like). As expected, those failing schools were inner city and 72% or higher on average population African American.

Now the reason I provided you this background is to tell you why your theory is incorrect. In the time that I worked with this program, we worked with over 100,000 families in these "poor" areas. They were given computers and free tutoring.

Being in constant contact with these families provided a unique insight into how their home lives were. The parents constantly yelled at their offspring, berating them and treating them as if they were not human. This was not "the white man" doing this to them. This was not "the system" fucking them in some way. This was their own behavior to their own families. The issues we see start at home, and propagated into their culture as a result. "But wait, I've got a counter, that's anecdotal! You can't use that!". Sorry, but again, 100,000 families, and this was about 90% of the contacts. That's no longer just random happenstance.

At the end of the program, as did many others, they were given the computer to keep forever, given that they completed their sessions. Now you might think that is an easy requirement right? Do some tutoring every now and then, and free computer? Sweet deal.

We constantly heard from families that would find a problem with every aspect of their free program, be it that "the teacha was too white soundin" or "they talked too smart" or "they had an attitude". Fortunately the agreement with the district allowed live monitoring of the sessions, so we could see with Lil Bonquiqui was the one having the problem, and not our esteemed Dr. Smith. Guess which case it was most of the time?

The point that I am making is, we are providing opportunities to "escape" from "the system" but the majority rather than the minority, to make use of ironic terminology here, fails to utilize it or abuses it entirely. They create their own problems. Call me bitter but I'm glad as shit I don't have to deal with them again.
