U.S. Will Formally Accuse China of Hacking Microsoft

We cannot work on any one thing first at the expense of anything else.

What? This is absurdly untrue.

The federal administrative state is built out of specific institutions (FBI, CDC, EPA, etc) that have very specialized expertise and knowledge. The government can and absolutely does work on thousands of separate problems simultaneously.

Even congress is separated into different caucuses that focus on specific issues, and committees that essentially craft legislation before it hits the floor. These are separate people with separate interests and spheres of knowledge and influence.

The kind of "one thing at a time" thinking is what has been used by partisans to discredit the amazing work of government employees on a range of issues. At one point in the 70's it was used to disparage people trying desperately to craft environmental legislation because the economy was doing poorly.

Don't fall into that trap. The fed govt (and state governments) have many knowledgeable people who can chew gum and walk at the same time.
