/u/throwawaynumber53 gives us the legal rundown on Bill Cosby's release

the only one to immediately go to jail over this stuff.

Is your complaint that Weinstein took just over a year longer to put in prison? That's what I'm hearing. Cosby went to prison in late 2018, Weinstein in early 2020, they're like 14-15 months apart. Epstein was like six months after Cosby. Oh, and

Cosby has had rumors circulating about him over this crap since the 1980s, much like Weinstein. The real meaty investigations of Weinstein started a couple years before his conviction, much like Cosby. Cosby got charged when he did because the statute of limitations on that particular crime was coming up, so they had to do it then or never. He also had effectively admitted what he did in the civil trial, which is the best evidence you can get for this stuff. Weinstein didn't have that. Weinstein also got a much heavier penalty when convicted, over twice the prison time.

So I can't say I agree Cosby's race in any way seemed to be a factor when compared to anyone else.
