u/TrumpUberAlles succinctly and Briefly breaks down the Worst Presidential response in History to an Outbreak

Imagine typing that and thinking it makes you look superior. Fascinating

Obviously my objection is to an insufficient measure applied too late. Experts say travel bans slow the spread but it's not sufficient. Not only that but it wasn't even a proper ban for Americans. It was only mandatory quarantine for Americans in hubei province and self quarantine for other parts of China only in the last 14 days. Which is absurd when you realize that there were already cases in the US at that time, meaning it was way outside China at that point. Given the exponential nature of infection, that's why I say it does nothing. And tracing the genomic evidence back through Europe is evidence of that. That is why the ultimate source is irrelevant once it reaches a certain scale.

So if you people are pointing to him banning travel from China as an example of him doing something good when even a total ban wouldn't be enough, I don't see how that's evidence of good leadership.

I'd have more respect if he'd opted for a more comprehensive ban (that included more countries too) but, but what matters more is how he handled things internally, which is not a good look no matter how you slice it. He massively downplayed the virus on Twitter, which is hugely irresponsible when individual behavior influences infection rates so much.
