Ubisoft Share Price Tumbles After Dire Sales Report

I'm not happy about it but I wouldn't be surprised if Ubisoft were acquired by Microsoft or Sony within the next few years. They used to be worth around €25,000,000,000, now they're worth about €3,000,000,000. That plunge has only happened over around four years and there's nothing to suggest they're getting any better about anything.

Even if I do think they're going to get acquired, I don't think there's much point to it. What in the world is the value in buying Ubisoft? The only property they have that I'd consider financially attractive is the Assassin's Creed series. The Tom Clancy games have a destroyed reputation, Rayman is a totally dead property, Beyond Good and Evil has historically ridiculous development hell, where in the world is the future for this company? What would they add to another company's portfolio besides them being able to say "We bought another studio?"

I just can't imagine a scenario where it makes more sense for Sony or Microsoft to own Ubisoft than to make a dozen or more high budget exclusives for the same amount of money. I know that's a dramatic oversimplification, but this publisher has nothing but corporate bloat, it really doesn't need to exist and the market agrees.
