It may seem like a small few of us UCF fans that believe this but living in Orlando and being around the students/fans I can say a lot of us don’t think we deserve to be in the playoffs this year. To be honest I didn’t think we deserved it last year, if you took our resume last year before the Peach Bowl I would of had us around #8. This year our SOS is just not there and being at our games and watching a lot of them I see a dip in talent as well.

A lot of UCF fans just want respect for their team and I don’t mean that in a top 4 spot, I mean that in other teams and ESPN to look at us as a Boise State, a Utah, a TCU. Pretty much a team that is capable of getting picked up in the next expansion (I know Boise isn’t in the P5, but they get a lot of respect), as well as recognition when playing big games. When we played Baylor in 2013 we were 18.5pnt underdogs and were never given a shot at that game, when we played Auburn last year everyone said we’d never even get close and we won again, after which everyone argued that Auburn wasn’t in the game even though multiple players and coaches came out and said they were giving it their all. Now we go 7-0 and are riding a 20-0 streak and Herbstreit says “who cares” on GameDay.

I understand UCF not being in the playoffs and if for some reason it does happen either by the scenario presented above or by pity we would get destroyed 7/10 times but I will say we do deserve respect in what our teams have accomplished similar to that of a Boise State, Utah, and TCU as maybe not the best but one of the elite G5 teams.

That being said I appreciate the work you put into the write up Alabama bro and how unbiased you made it. Thank you for considering us one of the great G5 program and don’t completely stomp out our hopes to make it to the P5 someday.
