UCR Grading Policy Change

These are some of my thoughts on the grading options you're listing-

Option one; Triple A- this would never happen because then people wouldn't put effort into their classes, hell I wouldn't if they changed the system to that.

Option two; Satisfactory/No Credit -it's not fair in my opinion that you guys are pushing to make that mandatory for everyone instead of opt-in. If this were the case, I would be fine with the idea of having the choice to display your grade in your transcript (which you mentioned) as long as the grades are accounted for in my gpa. And if you have the option to show your grades in the end, then why force everyone into a pass/fail grading system & not just keep the p/f optional (genuinely curious).

Option three; A, B, C- again, if there's no possibility of failing, then people will slack off way more than they are. Also, it's unfair to pass everyone and have them progress to another class that they don't have the foundation for. (For example, if you barely learned anything from ochem 8A, then you're only setting the student up for a weak foundation for 8B).
