UK defence minister: "We are going to continue to oppose any idea of an EU army or an EU army headquarters which would simply undermine NATO"

'Continually shitting on the EU' is not what we we're doing. Negative feedback is the most valuable feedback. It's hardly our fault the EU can't take or act on criticism.

The EU smeared all dissent as racism in the most devious display of bigotry by the so-called tolerant I've ever witnessed.

I see the USSR comparison. Expansionism (well, not this year), authoritarianism, militarisation, centralisation of power. It might have been rebranded but as a Brit I like to think I recognise an Empire when I see it. This is the same old shit. Personally I think decentralisation of power is the more viable route we should all go down.

No informal negotiations, no compromise whatsoever? Clearly they haven't been trying everything. They're literally making 'hard' Brexit the only option. As everyone on this sub likes to continually point out, the EU is bigger. It set's the tone.

In regards to the military. We have a small professional military and we still fuck shit up. The EU has scale. And Germany doesn't have the best track record with large power recently or historically. I think a little bit of patience doesn't really hurt anyone. We're on our way out anyway.

And let's not pretend people on this sub haven't been behaving in a gleeful and somewhat disturbing manner towards every negative British story. The top post in Europe with 570 comments currently is 'Boris Johnson: UK will help Turkey join.' That's blatantly taken out of context, they don't even use quotes in the headline and... just go read the comments.

I used to really like the EU but now I don't trust it all. Literally the more I learn (and I hang out on this sub, I'm hardly just swallowing right wing propaganda) the more skeptical I become.
