UK Game Developers now have their own official union!

And I'm not convinced unions would even solve that

  1. We're talking crunch based on social engineering and peer pressure. "Nobody but the hardest workers really do this" goes a long way toward making people ignore their rights
  2. Rockstar is big enough that they could migrate. I doubt they'd want to as they all have roots there

In theory, the idea of a union is you can't easily join or leave it so "Okay, you are waiving your union rights" won't work. But shit like Rockstar is socially on a level where I could imagine "Only cool people ignore that union bullshit. And Rockstar and CDPR and Whatever only hire cool people" breaking that.
