The UK no longer has a national public library system

America never held the title for leader of the civilised world.

One where lynchings still occurred in the 80s https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Michael_Donald

Isn’t what I would call “civilised” or one where racism is still so prevalent today that people peacefully protesting are called to be fired, and get death threats.

Not to mention the fact that 1% of the entire population is incarcerated. And that dozens of 13 and 14 year old children have been sentenced to life imprisonment with no possibility of parole in this nation. The United States is the only country in the world where a 13-year-old is known to be sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. In fact, over 2225 juveniles (age 17 or younger) have been sentenced to life imprisonment without parole in the US

A country where child genital mutilation is barbarically common.

Where the police force can kill citizens with impunity.

Where homicide rates are 5 times that of Europe and other first world nations.

The US never has been the leader of the civilised world.
