Ukraine Discussion/Question Thread - 4/8/23+

From all the drone footages we see from Ukraine, I think it's appropriate to seriously add drones (Mavic and equivalent) to a standard rifleman kit. We'd only need 1 or 2 skilled pilots within a unit but anybody can carry spare drones. The pilots can be attached to an IFV to support other IFV's and MBT's helping them shoot accurately through cover/concealment. They don't have to use their sights to confirm target. This helps the ground units where the airspace is actively contested. Even in secured airspace, unless they're already circling the area, it takes time for air units to arrive on scene which could be anywhere between 10 mins or much longer. Artillery usually takes <30 seconds.

A ChatGPT equivalent AI installed locally on the drone memory could bypass jamming counter-measure by the opposition. "Here is our line. Anything you see within 10Km of this line during your 15 min patrol, you record its data (gps coordinate, screenshots, etc). Evade detected counter-measure to where you confirm a secured signal from us, unlock your files and notify us."
