Ukraine Operational Command South: The first six Stormer HVM air defence missile systems have arrived at the front lines

The Stormer HVM fires Starstreak missiles that use SACLOS for guidance and break apart into 3 darts to increase the odds of a hit.

SACLOS is basically an old system commonly used in anti tank missiles, like the Stugna-U where you point your camera at a target, the camera sees the infrared of the missile and steers it so that it stays in the middle of the camera image, which is presumably where the target is.

Since Starstreak is a newer system, I am assuming that the camera automatically uses image recognition to make sure the missile is targeted on the airplane even if the operator accidentally veers off a few degrees.

My only question is how does the missile know its time to break apart into the 3 darts? Proximity fuse on the missile maybe? Laser range finder on the launcher? Either thing is detectable though, but not extremely.
