Ukrainians unearth horrors near Kyiv, a month after Russian retreat

I grew up on Long Island and there are a few areas with high Russian concentration - I never had a problem with any of them.

One time I was over in Amsterdam with my cousin and we weren’t familiar with the city at all, but we thought it’d be a good idea to go to the mushroom shop and eat them immediately. So we wandered around and the sun went down, we were completely disoriented and only knew the name of our hostel. A very helpful older one-eyed Russian man saw we were a mess and walked us all the way across the city to where we needed to go. Along the way we talked and it turns out his wife and family were from right nearby my home in Long Island. It was fortuitous that we crossed paths and I’ll always remember that guy.

Now as far as Russians who live in Russia goes, I have no idea other than the barrage of horrific daily headlines - once they’ve moved out and been exposed to the western world, they are perfectly reasonable characters. In my experience.
