UN human rights lawyer claims UN is sharing names of uyghur dissidents with China. Horrible if true

But is there really freedom of press? If so, why is Assange on trial? Most newspapers nowadays just spit back government press releases with a twist that matches their political alignment. I'm not talking about their leaders here (which are, well democratically elected), but democracies have taken a real dark road over the past 20 years (at least), surveillance has been buffed up all over the world (under cover of security and protection), personal freedoms have been decreasing faster than ever (and I'm not talking about wearing masks here).

I know exactly how China operates, all I'm saying is that half the shit that happens there also happens in democracies but they're sugar coated because we write the global narrative, not them.
