It’s amazing how Orwellian it all is. It’s like the two minutes hate, making people say “Oceania was at war with Eastasia. Oceania had always been at war with Eastasia” over and over again until they believe it.

On top of that you have this manipulation of language where messages on social media are violence, or George HW Bush—a nonagenarian in a wheelchair—patting a woman’s behind is described as “sexual assault”.

They want to alter the language and reduce nuance so their ideology is more easily spread:

“Don’t you see that the whole aim of Newspeak is to narrow the range of thought? In the end we shall make thoughtcrime literally impossible, because there will be no words in which to express it.”
