At UNC Chapel Hill, 16 departments have zero registered Republican professors, analysis finds

UNC is a very liberal campus and Chapel Hill/Carrboro are equally so. Nobody in NC would be surprised by this article.

I went to a school in NC that was about 95%+ conservative. I had a brilliant PoliSci professor that was quite conservative, but never really beat it into your head about it. If anything, the campus made me shift me much more to the left because every 20 year old ran around saying, 'cut taxes! reduce gov't! make the military strong again!' without having anything more than a skin-deep knowledge of any particular subject.

as a student, it's your job to recognize inherent bias and decide if you want to embrace viewpoints or find a means to objectively resist it. I consider myself conservative/libertarianish today, but I give my professors the credit for shaping my understanding of our political system and why I have the beliefs I do. We had professors on all sides of the political spectrum, but I never felt like any were ideologues trying to preach. If my small school could manage that, I'm sure UNC's can too
