But as is clearly indicated by this post thread, everyone else understood what OP meant. Because it’s generally accepted that people can “read the room” or make inferences in the English language. We do it all the time.

Lots of slang used, or abbreviations or shortening of words don’t actually exist in the English language. But we make inferences and concessions all the time for language used by other people. That’s normal behaviour for those who possess critical thinking skills.

You could have also read the room a bit, and understood (just like everyone else was able to) what OP meant. That’s how social situations work, unless you’re a social hand grenade.
