Undercover Anti-Abortion Video Showed Images of Stillborn — Not Aborted — Fetus. The woman whose fetus is shown in the video believes that the Center for Medical Progress’ use of the image is illegal.

Because they're farther along in their pregnancy it means that they're getting the abortion because something went wrong, especially if they're past 20-24 weeks.

This is an assumption. I'm well aware amniocentesis and early sonograms don't always detect abnormalities (particularly in structural development) that become apparent later in the pregnancy. This and threats to the woman's physical health/life are appropriate grounds for late term abortions.

Here's the Gutmacher Institute Brief on State Policies on Later Abortions. Page 3 lists how states makes exceptions for late term abortions. 26 of these states allow for late term abortions for "Life & Health," to include mental health. Does that mean someone with an active mental health disorder? Or does that mean someone who's life would be negatively impacted by a child? I don't doubt each state defines that differently and it's a slipperly slope.

What's more, the Guttmacher Institute last did a survey on why women have late term abortions, unfortunately all the way back in 1988. Fetal abnormality/maternal health were minority reasons. In 2005, they conducted a survey on why women get abortions at all. Again, fetal abnormality/maternal health was in the minority. This is information collected from a division of PP, not some pro-life nutters and it contradicts your assumption.

Digoxin and potassium chloride are typically used in conjunction with D&Cs to cease cardiac function in the fetus prior to the procedure. These drugs are not used in cases of fetal tissue donation, as they render the tissue unuseable. So what I'm getting from the data is late term abortions, involving 'chopping it up inside' or 'collapsing the head' are performed for reasons other than fetal/maternal health on otherwise live, healthy fetuses. How is that not disturbing?

So, no it isn't illegal for them to chose one method over the other because both are legal.

Both methods being legal does not mean they are equally applicable to each woman. These statements indicate that the doctors are prioritizing the procurement of tissue over which method is best for the woman ("I made my decisions according to that"). If I have to have an abortion, I want my doctor to use a method that has the smallest risk of complications, including infection, bleeding, and pain, not the method that's going to get them the most intact fetus.
