Understanding the Old Testament - For what reason did God not prevent Eve from eating the Apple?

From what I understand based on the teachings of an old theology teacher, God was almost counting on Adam and Eve to eat of the forbidden fruit. During the time of the first chapters of Genesis they had already reached the highest form of salvation given to them. No sin, no death, no pain. However, after eating of the tree of knowledge, they brought sin and death into the world and allowing the need of the Messiah to save humanity. By eating of the fruit they not only destroyed their relationship with God, but created the option for a higher form of salvation through Christ and becoming one with God.

I’m not sure if you will understand what I’m saying because honestly I’m not the best at explaining things but i hope this helped.
