Unforeseen benefit of Steam Deck NOT power boosting in "dock mode"??

You’ve got to understand though that many Switch games are all either using lower detail settings or running at 30FPS when at higher resolutions.

The Steam Deck runs games that are meant for PC and have higher texture details. They can be turned down to Switch quality and you’ll see an FPS increase of course.

My point is that games running at 1080p on the Switch don’t look any better than 720p on the Deck because the Switch games are already simple low texture games to begin with. You can run PS1 Tomb Raider in an emulator at 10x native resolution, Lara’s boobs will still be triangles. Very sharp triangles.

As well, apparently there is a way to increase TDP higher than 15 watts. The BIOS has options for AMD PBO. No one seems to have messed with it and documented the results but PBO is what configures TDP so maybe it’s an option.
