Unimpressed with Fin Aid

Don't mean to hijack, but I have a similar fin aid conundrum and I feel you may be the one to ask.

I have a full-tuition scholarship, but would also like to serve (any branch really). I would love some advice, I have watched your video on the HPSP, but because of the scholarship I wonder how that plays into things?

Are there programs that offer stipends and no scholarship, and with that have a shorter commitment? And even more important to my decision, are there any programs out there that would help me pay for the cost of attendance after tuition, and wouldn't force me to "drill" or go to OCS (or other branches versions) when I could otherwise be doing research and building a competitive residency app? Ideally with that, I would also rather do the regular match and not the military match.. though despite hearing the shortcomings of the military match, and hearing your story, I do still think it would be a great way to serve. I have this same feeling that eventually lead me to want to do medicine that is leading me to want to be a physician in the military, so I feel it may end up happening eventually no matter what.
