IGN's video game rating system is so fucked. People get mad for undeserved "low scores" when the score isn't even that low. It's because IGN's scoring system is so inflated. In a normal 1-10 scale the average score would be a 5, but 8 has become the average on the IGN scale.

Also, since there's so many different reviewers for their site, you don't know who's opinion you're getting. You just have to roll the dice and hope it's somebody who's interests aligns with yours. Even dunkey brought this up in one of his videos.

The possibility of paid/fake reviews should be considered too since they definitely have an impact on the games sales
