My dad killed a neighbor's dog in 2009.

My mother had gotten out of our car, which was parked in our driveway, and a neighbor's dog charged her—tackling her to the ground. The dog then proceeded to terrorize us by running circles around the car (I was inside the car). Then, the dog ran up and nipped my mom in the ankle.

My dad heard the commotion. He ran outside from the house, grabbed a shovel, and smacked the dog on the head with 100% of his strength. The dog whimpered off, staggering, and collapsed in the middle of the road where it death rattled and died shortly after.

The neighbor came running over from their adjacent house, screaming murder. He then threatened to kill my dad. We called the cops. It was tense.
