I never understood why she was so surprised about that. There are people who get pregnant because they missed one pill at the „right“ time. (I think she had the IUD, but no birth control is no birth control.) Another thing that really irritates me is when people say that their birth control, in these cases the pill, failed them and they got pregnant because of that. This was mentioned so often on 16&pregnant, but when further questioned they admitted that they didn‘t take it consistently, like they forgot them for a few days and then took three at once or were sick and didn’t use additional protection until their next cycle started. Sorry, but then it‘s not the birth control who failed. On the other hand of course a lot of these girls are barely educated on those topics and don‘t know how different kinds of protection work, it makes me furious. If only there was a place teenagers go to regularly, where someone who‘s educated could teach them all these things..
