Unpopular opinion: Hydraulic brakes are a ridiculously complex solution to cable brakes which were never a problem in the first place.

LOL!!! Man, I remember saying something like that about 20+ years ago. And you know what? I've also heard people say the same thing about ABS on motorcycles. In both cases, it's important to understand that technology has moved forward, and you should find a way too!

My recommendation would be to find a bicycle store that will lend you a hydraulic braked bike and take it all over the place for a day. Trust me, you'll learn to appreciate the power and control that being elevated into the hydraulic brake game can introduce. I don't have any on any of my bikes yet (largely because all of my bikes are pretty old), but my next one will have hydraulic disc brakes. They REALLY used to be a pain, back in the day. Times have changed, and they've definitely gotten way better!
