[Unpopular Opinion] If you think Chau deserved to die because he "invaded" their lands, you also think US troops mowing down Central American migrants attempting to "invade" our country is acceptable.

Deserve? No. Nobody deserves to die for trespassing. But different victims elicit different degrees of sympathy. You're looking at an educated man who knew the tribe was wild, with no history of welcoming strangers but a known deadly fierce and territorial attitude, a man whose presence would endanger their health and survival, a man who wasn't fleeing danger in his own land. In contrast, the migrants are fleeing death and/or poverty and are coming to a country that has a welcoming sign: “Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free..." and no history of killing unarmed refugee claimants. This is why you see different levels of sympathy and understanding. I don't wish death upon anyone, but one was begging for it while the others are trying to escape it.
