Unpopular Opinion Probably: 100% Gasoline Hybrids Aren't EVs and Posts About Them Shouldn't Be Allowed

kIn the same way a FCEV is not a hybrid, it only has an electric motor running on a chemical storage of energy and it doesn’t burn any fuel.

I don’t understand what burning of the fuel has to do with anything.

There are series hybrids on the market that burn fuel to turn a generator to power an electric motor which powers the wheels.

You are saying those aren’t a hybrid, they’re just using an inefficient energy conversion process. Whether the power is coming from the gas generator or energy recovered from the wheels, motive power always comes from the electric motor, so it isn’t a hybrid.

That’s a real twisting of definitions, in my opinion.
