Unpopular Opinion Thread

The Dutch Second Division (Keuken Kampioen Divisie) is the worst league out there.

All the reserve teams that are allowed to play first team players and have basically got massive squads and significantly higher financial backing have a real advantage over teams like Telstar that barely manage to exist or get good players. The reserve teams can't get promoted either.

And the fact that 2 to 5 all get to play promotion playoffs is a joke, 1 team may have more points than the team that ended 5th, yet they get the same reward.

There's also periodic titles that guarantee a spot in the playoffs, which means you can play a great first half to the competition, win the periodic title and then do nothing the remaining time. There are 4 periods, so 4 winners. And guess what? If the teams ending 2nd till 5th also win the periodic titles, they will just go to the next highest ending teams that haven't won one.

In a serious competition, only a few teams that have consistently performed well should get rewarded. Not some miserable club that did well the first period and ended 13th at the end of the season (like FC Dordrecht last season).

This competition is a joke and I will be so fucking glad if we get promoted this season.
