I'm lumping everything together because the riots definitely would have continued if Trump won, and Trump has historically taken the brunt of the blame for things he didn't even commission. I guess this all depends on the severity one attributes to an event. BLM riots caused objectively more damage than 1/6, but you could argue 1/6 was symbolically worse for the country and could have caused irreparable damage had all lines of defense failed. If the Capitol is off-limits for the reasons you stated, they'd find another way or other avenues (as they have before). So many businesses destroyed with no recognition. Imagine having to board up your small business to stop rioters from destroying it, over an incident in which the facts haven't even been cemented yet. It doesn't help that those in Congress like Ilhan stoke the fires there, calling a recent event "state-sanctioned murder," until the police footage comes out showing the person shot at police first. No further comment from Ilhan. I really don't see a way out of this if people can't accept the facts.
