Until the UFC cracks down on them, we are going to see eye pokes more.

I struggle with this. The sport is simulated death matches. When someone gets injured in his sport, or really any sport, I shrug. It sucks, but it's grown ups playing a game for a living.

However, this is one of the exceptions for me. There's a way to do better. We know how to, at the very least, assuage the issue. I'm sure they're choosing to keep the current gloves out of... I'll say loyalty, but I'm assuming it's something closer to cronyism. But UFC needs to take better care of their fighters across the board.

Unionize. That's the answer. UFC is going to take care of getting rich before they're going to take care of their athletes EVERYTIME. When they take care of an athlete, it's because they consider it a profitable decision.
