Upcoming Houston Video Game Lounge....

No thanks, but thank you anyway, Zach. I visited a similar lounge in New Orleans recently, and the only way they are making a buck is in their food and beverage service, and their children's birthday party business for tweens and older children. And they have a ton of old retro arcade games that they can charge $10 per child, per hour, that the parents love. He said parties and his arcade business are his solid money makers, and that the high end gaming ended up making him nothing - and people tore up the equipment.

They had to go BYOB so adults could have a beer, but they serve pizza, other foods, birthday cakes, soda's etc.

Talked to the owner for a long time over a beer, and he said that if it was not for his website advertising in a New Orleans family magazine, and in the New Orleans travel guide, he would have shuttered his place months ago. The serious gamers did not show up after the first couple of months, and prefer to stay at home, or go to the huge game events.

Just something to think about.
